Valencia F1 Grand Prix

Sorry for the delay in these extra photos.
Just been watching P2 at Silverstone.

Shame for those who braved the weather - rain seems to have reduced the action.
So, hopefully to brighten the day here's some more pics from Valencia.

Just after we'd arrived.
Had to get the dinghy out to "report in" to the T dock where all the big boats were berthed. Note the red flag on our dinghy which gave us access to all areas in the harbour over the weekend.

You can just see the T dock in this pic

A couple of hours before they start, the drivers parade round the circuit - JW's horn was used here to prompt a wave

Finally a pic from our flybridge

IMG_0778e_Small.jpg

We had 2 TV feeds - one was the usual BBC/F1 coverage - the other was the driver tracker. One feed patched to each of JW's G Series monitors. The audio was switched to the flybridge audio system and the volume turned to it's absolute maximum!!!
The overall resuly was fantastic - not only did we have one of the best seats on the circuil but our TV feeds meant that we were able to understand what was going on throughout the Grand Prix.

Some more - a few youtube clips

These are HD - sorry about the quality - I'm still learning how best to use HD video.

And the pocket camera's video clip shown earlier in this thread

And finally a video clip from our run home - see no waves and wall to wall sunshine - more than could be said for the weather in the UK at the same time.

We, and lots of friends, go down to Valencia often.
Quite a lot of the old F1 circuit is in an unused part of the port where most of these pics were taken.
In fact, Valencia is a charming place to visit - especially by boat.
We take our bikes and cycle up the old river bed which has been turned into a park.
The river was redirected a number of years ago before the F1 was even planned.
At one end of the old river bed there are numerous modern buildings - museums and a Sea World style park.
At the other end of the old river bed is the old town with its many restaurants, shops and marbled streets.
Some will probably disagree with me but, actually, Valencia can be a nicer place to visit than Barcelona.

Edit
I've just found this video clip - taken half way along the old river bed.
Very different to the pics in the above link.
