V8 engine cooling

Hi guy's new here I am building a 1954 crackerbox http://s753.photobucket.com/albums/xx179/fergalbutler/crackerbox/?albumview=slideshow with a chevy v8 and wanted to get some thoughts on running it with a crossover pipe instead of the circulation pump and just use the raw water pump like this http://www.cpperform.../620-300100.pdf if any of you have any pro's or con's to this setup I would love to hear them.
