I want to change the V belts on my Nanni alternator. I know that the marine parts suppliers are charging up to £88 and Ebay do them for £7.50 but I need to get the correct size as I cannot return them. Best idea is to get the spare belts i have onboard and take the number off those. I have 3 numbers..........
1. On the bag which is N312335 = Means nothing to me or Google?
2. On the belt Mitsubishi/Toyota 90916-02385 = that comes up as no longer available - I assume as they are now ribbed? I can see the same number on this belt for 2 sizes!! 987mm and 1000mm. How can belts be different sizes with same number. Will the adjuster take up the difference ?
3. On the belt R620169 = means nothing I can find?

Why is it so difficult to get the correct info for a very common engine part. I have been through the forums and cannot find any confirmation of the part number required. It would be good to have a cross referencing system for these service parts that are being over charged by marine suppliers?
While doing the alternator belts I would also get timing belt kit as this will need to be done at some stage but again the correct part numbers would be really useful for us boaters. Once I have the parts and fitted I will post all the correct numbers and supplier if it helps anyone else.

Timing belt won’t be different to the none marine variant of the block .It will be written on , the code , if you can remove the cover and take a pic .
With the alternator belt ( mounts + size probably not the same ) take it off and run along to a auto car parts place even Halfords and compare it to what’s hanging up in store .
The over the counter car parts guys are too lazy to go into the back ( vast stock ) and have a rummage ...they need a product code off the “ system “ so if the “ computer says no “ you are left standing holding the part .

My generator once threw a belt of the coast of France , I took it off went to Norauto the Fr eq of Halfords and it turned out identical to a 1.0 L Citroen AX belt ....@ some thing ridiculous like €4 a piece i cleared the rack and took all 3 .So now have 2 spare .
Did not bother contacting via the book pack the nearest MASE agent .

Hi - assuming you have a Toyota based Nanni, I suggest getting the Toyota engine number (see the attached photo) and then having a chat with a company called "RoughTrax" in Keynsham for the Timing Kit. A genuine Toyota kit is reasonably priced. Do not forget to change the tensioner and idler wheel at the same time.

Regarding the engine number, sorry but cannot quite remember exactly where it is located

I had an Antares 7 that had the 3 litre 155hp Toyota 1KZ-TE engine.

I had twin vee belts on mine. They were 1000mm - Gates 6470MC (bought from RoughTrax) AVX13 x 1000

Hope that gives you a few clues etc.

Paul

I have a Nanni 4.150HE. I switched from the original belt to a polyV for which I have the following notes:
6PK1015 (6 'teeth', K profile, 1015cm/40” long)

Gates 6375MC (11.9 x 1010La – outside length) – slightly too long
(Prob SPZX 10x8x1000)

Thanks all. I discovered an engine number stamped on the front of the engine above the top pulley but it does not throw up anything?
"95710033"
Alternator belts changed. Will get new spares as above. Seems to be a lot of adjustment available if they are a bit long.
