I want to drop my genoa off to Dolphin Sails in a few weeks time. Is there any reason why I couldn't tie up on the jetty for 20 mins at HW? (mid-week not inschool holidays).

No reason at all. Just keep clear of the southern end of the hammerhead as that's where the WMYC launch comes in. If you can tie up other than on the actual hammerhead part, i.e. further up the jetty towards the shore, that would be better and you'd be very unlikely to be disturbed.

You will probably need to go on the hammerhead then, but there's plenty of water for 1.7 m draft at HW, even if you go a bit up the pontoon.
Should be space on the hammerhead midweek but the fishermen tend to leave their dinghies moored there ( they're not supposed to, but they do ) so you may need to be a bit careful with the approach.
Please keep clear of the southern part of the hammerhead - it has 'launch service, no mooring' signs - as that's where the YC launch comes in.

I would agree with Tim, but if this is not possible, could you bring a dinghy and pick up a mooring?
