Hi All.
The Lake District National Park Authority, LDNPA, is considering amending the Lake Windermere Bye-laws to allow it to grant exemptions to the 10mph speed limit for certain specific events.
These could include Motorboat Rallies, Powerboat Racing, and Speed Records Week.
They are conducting an on-line petition to gauge response, and if the Fors outnumber the Againsts, the new ruling could be in place this year.
This is a huge opportunity to begin to restore one of the country's best boating venues for motorboat and sportsboat use.
The petition ends at midnight today, Monday 19th March, and it is vital that we mobilise as many votes as possible, as the Anti-camp are marshalling their supporters.
Go to www.surveymonkey.com/s/wmere2012
You will find a series of other proposed measures there, which are generally acceptable, including altering the existing speed limit from 10mph to 10 knots, which you should also support.
Any questions, contact myself on 07703 218906.
