Uploading photos

The most satisfactory way is to use Photobucket (Or Tinypic which is a mini version of P'bucket)

Upload them to a P'bucket account. Choosing the size you want as you up load them.

Paste the IMG code directly into your post.

Alternatively paste in the code for clickable thumbnails if you want to display them as clickable thumbnails.

The "Attachment" route is OK but you are limited to the number of pictures you can store. See the FAQs for instructions. Can be displayed as a clickable thumbnail orfull size in the post ... have not fully sussed that out yet though.

The "Albums" can be used but they cannot be viewed until approved by the moderators so not good for posting into posts unless already uploaded and moderated, but the facility is there to simply copy and paste the IMG code

Thanks Vic, I already use Flickr, but I also decided to resize my avatar as the one imported formt he old forum was too big. Even though resised to 64X89 it won't accept as a valid photo.

Have lots of pics from last weekend to post plus my usual rambling story,, but have now given up.

No avatar, no pics, no interest.

64 x 89 should be ok for size (but there is a file size limit as well).

save it on your own computer as a .jpg file and up load it from there.

I've tried everything, but to no avail.

Lost my avatar now and can't get the old one back.

Also just noticed, I accidentally posted this in Scuttlebutt.

Should have stayed in bed.

You can borrow Mrs jhr's avatar if you like:

Re posting on Scuttlebutt; I thought this was because you were getting a part share in a raggie? It's really not healthy, you know.

Yot purchasement is ongoing.

It is a cleaning up project for the winter.

Today's abortive post was meant to be on MOBO telling how Tom Little Ship and I scared the bejasus out of a few hundred raggies using RIB's and why I am moving house to be closer to my boats.

Gievn up now. Realised that there are more important things to do.

Yot purchasement is ongoing!?! How exciting! Are you mplanning a move over to the.....dammit, I forget, is mobo-ing the dark side or.........whatever, do keep posting, you are much missed by the cognescenti (buggered if I know how you spell that). Or are you posting on mobo, I don't go there anymore since buying a MAB......which I likes very much!

Sir.

Oh please don't give up! I wanna read it and then I'd have the chance to tell you how I scared the bejasus out of Neddie by taking Carraghyn through the race at Calf Sound (yes me, I'm such a big brave girl these days).

Oh bugger! I already told you now......:(

Lakey says it's easy, but it's not. Can't make the thumbnail thing work as i like people to see Tom's thinning hair in all its glory and now my Avatar has gone and will not be replaced by its littler brother.

Return to doing pics the way you used to. This modern-fangled thumbnail thing is not as easy.
just use tags and your picture's url on PhotoPictureFlickr or wherever.

Avatars have been causing problems. I daren't change mine in case I lose it altogether.

Okay, I'll try it. Seems I am destined not to have an avatar.

Yes Neddie, I am blessed.

Hi Major,

Your abortive post is clearly a message from a higher authority. As debated during a very pleasant Saturday evening in the Bistro, it's not big and it's not clever to drive a MOBO of any variety at speed in the Menai, particularly when we're sitting on one of the mooring buoys waiting to be collected by the kind skipper of Little Ship. Had the pair of you driven through with due awareness of your bucking broncho wash, I don't doubt for a moment that you would have been successful in up-loading your imagery!

Regards

David

Hi David, I have the photos to prove that Tom's reckless driving at 33 knots caused nothing but a ripple on the water. Or I would, if I could post them. On the other hand motoring at 5 knots in the speed restriction zone at Port Dinorwic produces and considerably larger wash.

Good to see you and the wife at the weekend.
