It's a weekend, so Garmin are closed, but I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a G2 Bluechart HEU706L UK and Ireland chart installed on my GPSMap 750 chartplotter. It dates from 2010 and it's time for an update. The map is on the plotter - I use the SD card for software updates and for another area - S Brittany - when I'm cruising there.

I understand that Garmin will do half price updates via their website but when I follow it through it asks me to download their Communicator software. When I do that it appears to ask me to plug my chartplotter in - which I obviously can't do, as it's fixed to the yacht.

Has anyone done this recently? Am inclined to get a new chart posted on an SD Card to me rather than a download.

Many thanks

Nick

If you put the SD card in the plotter it copies some files across. Next put the SD card into the computer and the software will allow the update to the card. Next use the card to update the plotter.

Whichever way, you need the SD Card. You either do the upgrade via download (when you plug the SD Card in with Communicator installed, it will appear as one of your "devices") or you take the card into a Garmin Dealer who will exchange the card for you.
