Well, we went-a-visiting today 1st to Hamble point which I have to say was lovely! Popped into Southwater where we looked at some Monterey 218's...loved em!! Also called into Marina Marbella and I have to say thankyou to those of you who suggested them. The guy there was extremely helpful and gave us a good look round a 2007 Sea Ray 215 which, if that had been within our budget, would have sealed it for us pending a test run! Despite the fact he knew we could not buy it, he still was more than willing to answer our questions. Well deserving of the recommendation! Also called in to Mendez Marine which has been a mind of really helpful info. Can't praise them enough! Gonna do our PB2 with them for sure hopefully in next few weeks. Next port of call was Parkstone Bay in Poole where we looked over a Sea Ray we had details of: 1998 215 ec. Nice looking boat, clean and tidy but had slight damage (cracked and chipped fibre glass) just under trim towards the stern which kinda put us off but the the clincher I'm afraid was no service history although it had been recently serviced. I'm sure it would have been fine but we didn't want to risk it. Right decision?? or over cautious?? What do you think? He wanted around £11000 no trailer. Anyway, since seeing the Monterey's, we find ourselves swinging towards them so back down to Hamble Point tomorrow to hopefully be taken out in one. One thing we have definitely decided upon is dry berthing...we watched it all in action and for me anyway, it was fascinating and so well organised, brilliant! Gonna take a look at Lymington tomorrow (didn't have time today) though I think it's a tad too expensive for us.
Sorry for the waffle, just wanted give you all an update and say thanks for all the advice and recommendations.
Cheers all
