up the Rhone

My hunter 273 (Double Diamond) is currently ashore at Castelsarrasin (near Toulouse), having reached there via Brittany, Biscay, Bordeaux and the Canal du Garrone. This coming year, I would like to bring her through the Canal du Midi and then via the Rhone to eventually reach the French channel coast at Calais or Le Havre.
Double Diamond is capable in ideal conditions of sustaining 6knt under power (yanmar 9hp).

Am I likely to experience serious difficulties with currents on the Rhone? I have no problems with regard to timing and duration.

^Knts is about right, though a lot depends on the time of year; late summer is best as there is less water in the river.
A southerly 115 found no problems at the end of this September just gone, and an aquaintance in a very small 22footer got uo very quickly in July.

We came down in May 1999 and have a photo of the GPS registering 9.4knts! but we did have the engine running.
