I wish to fit a mast track slider for a whisker pole to the existing track on the front of my Selden mast. The appropriate end piece is held on by a screw. The inside of the mast has a foam pad covering the point at which the screw exits the mast wall. Can I assume that removing and refitting the track end piece is as simple as unscrewing the screw in question? I am concerned that there may be a locking nut inside the mast that I can neither see nor control. When retightening, having fitted the slider, do I need to apply some locking gunk to the screw and if so what? Thanks for any help.
