Underwater Sealant

There has been mention in previous threads of a sealant which will adhere to wet surfaces. Can anybody please remember the name/make and let me know where to get it.

Bit of a cheek really on this forum but I need it to seal a joint in a plastic downpipe on my house which is weeping. It is almost impossible to get at to replace the joint and never completely dries out.

Many thanks in advance. Bob

Hello Bob
I just used some epoxy putty on a problem in my loft
I think it is called milliput and it is one tube yellow, one grey which you mix together and then bodge on - works a treat

Thanks for the prompt reply. My problem is also in the loft where a vent pipe from the bathroom travels slightly downhill before a 90 deg bend up then through the roof. Condensation collects at the lowest point at the joint.

Does the epoxy adhere to a wet surface as there is a constant slight drip and I cannot get it completely dry. I have to keep a small container underneath to stop the ceiling below being marked.

Try having a browse round the local DIY shed - there are a couple of products designed for sealing gutters &c that can be applied damp and do an effective job. I used a paint on version to fix a leaking gully a few years back.

Hi Bob
Yes it sticks to wet plastic piping and the problem sounds the same except that we got back from 5 weeks on the boat to a massive damp patch (lath and plaster ceiling) and a puddle on the floor. It took me ages to locate the problem and I had containers everywhere. The ceiling doesn't seem to have suffered lasting damage except for a brown stain which dear heart has painted over.

Thanks to all posters - I think that I have solved the problem. Sorry it was a non-sailing query but it could be useful to others
