It looks possible in principle but best suited to steel yachts where the absorbtion of the ultrasound is lower.........I dunno!!!!

What is the impact on the more lovable forms of marine life? Porpoises etc are thought to be distressed -or at least disorientated- by echo sounders, so what will the impact of this sort of subsonic background noise be?

I e mailed the company with various simple questions and i suggested that if they were so confident about there product that they should except a 50% payment the remainder would be interest free and payable after two years if the product is as they say in all there literature. Bearing in mind its a new product and the world recession i thought they would have agreed. But so far no reply a believe therefore that this product is snake oil. PBO will apparently be doing a report on this product but dont hold your breath.

Snakeoil I believe. I reseached it a couple of years ago for my brother, who was temped by the adverts. I can't remember chapter and verse now, but I seem to remember the problem is down to stiffness of the hull at ultrasonic frequencies. For it to work the hull has to transmitt the vibration over its surface, and most materials aren't stiff enough to do that over any realistic scale. I'd stear clear unless guaranteed with THEIR money!
