UK supplier of US Biminis?

With dealer's quoted price of £1400 for a full hood for a Cranchi Ellipse, and a local canvas manufacturer's price of £600 for a bespoke Bimini, I've started to look longingly at US 'universal' Bimini's which for the Cranchi would be about $300 (a little work with a pipe bender would adapt it for fitting on the normal hood mounts too, I think).

US manufacturers include the likes of Hurricane (see http://www.biminitop.net/universalbiminitops.html ).

Snag is, I've also been quoted $200 for postage (UPS) -- so I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a UK supplier for US Biminis that might beat this overall price?

I only want to keep the littl'uns out of the sunshine!

Compass do a universal Bimini for about 200 quid. Various sizes listed in their catalouge. Or you can have a look at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.compass24.com>http://www.compass24.com</A> Might be worth having a look.

Currently faced with the same problem Try: http://www.martexmarine.com/Canopy Fittings.htm or http://www.marine-hardware.co.uk/ for the various bits and bobs to make your own. The tube and fittings should come to around £100 - Try Point North or Penineoutdoor.co.uk for the material (or ex army surplus!) for the material. Doing it this way you both save money and get exactly what you need.
