UK circum capable <27ft yacht?

Yes, of course it could be done in two months. The Round Britain racers do it in a lot less. However, you might want to read up what they have to say about it on their web site: this is not an event for inexperienced crews and it is without doubt the most brutal racing event in the Northern hemisphere.

Could it be done in some subpar boat? Yes, probably, but I'm quite happy to discuss the merits of that suggestion with it's proponents, after they spent 5 days holed up at anchor in Loch Eriboll, in a howling gale and torrential downpours, desperately hoping for a window so they may round Cape Wrath in 4 metre seas.

A more realistic sense of (real) average boat speeds should be part of the decision making process as well.

Probably - but also a realistic understanding that someone saying round Britain in a 27'er, solo, in 8 weeks most likely means via the Caledonian Canal - which of course opens up the argument about what round Britain means. It's possible that given the OP is being entirely speculative at the moment that he's not even considered the difference. To some extent the boat (plus time constraints) might make that decision for him.

A lack of defined parametres has never prevented a lively discussion on this forum and many of the arguments and suggestions are made by folk who may not have immediate experience with a particular subject matter. Much more again, is based on "as seen on TV" or Youtube, as that may be.
