Probably - but also a realistic understanding that someone saying round Britain in a 27'er, solo, in 8 weeks most likely means via the Caledonian Canal - which of course opens up the argument about what round Britain means. It's possible that given the OP is being entirely speculative at the moment that he's not even considered the difference. To some extent the boat (plus time constraints) might make that decision for him.Could it be done in some subpar boat? Yes, probably, but I'm quite happy to discuss the merits of that suggestion with it's proponents, after they spent 5 days holed up at anchor in Loch Eriboll, in a howling gale and torrential downpours, desperately hoping for a window so they may round Cape Wrath in 4 metre seas.
A more realistic sense of (real) average boat speeds should be part of the decision making process as well.
