Tying a flying bowline

really simple when you get the knack. Trick is to use a long enough tail end so that it has the momentum to spin around all the other parts of the rope.

Once the flying bowline is mastered, try tying a normal bowline with one hand (useful in rough weather if you have to hold on and tie a bowline at the same time) or the double and triple bowlines: Double, not much use, triple, a good emergency harness/bosuns chair
