Thoughts to all involved.

So very sad. Considering how many people participate in sailing, we rarely have a fatality despite the potential risks. To have two separate incidents with a fatality in one weekend is such a shock. I feel for the families and crews.

Perhaps they did wear them as a matter of routine. I am not sure that suggesting people dont is helpfull until the facts are known. Quite a few reports over the years, some with video, of persons transferring position, when unclipped, going overboard.

Whatever the reason, tragic and so sad fior all involved to experience.

No doubt there will be an investigation.
