At last, the EA are talking in mph rather than kph, only a few more years and we'll be getting them talking in knots like the rest of us.

Hmmm! Whilst not detracting from the guilt of the person. How can an off-duty special be qualified to give an estimate of a vessel's speed? What are his marine qualifications? is he also an auxiliary coastguard maybe?
I hope the conviction was made on other values such as damage.
Stupidly fast on the river. Potentially lethal to swimmers and wading fishermen, very unpleasant for moored boats and an almost certain capsize for ROBOs.
On only a slightly related topic, BBC Radio London had a bit about 40 mins fast RIB rides from Central London to Greenwich and back, they might have said the speed but it will be fast. How doesd the Port of London OK this when often will tell off cruisers travelling nowhere near that sort of speed?
'cos they don't throw the wash of the big boats; cos they do slow down a bit past moored boats and because they don't really open them up till they're in the Lower Pool and there's nothing to hurt
Yes, perspiration (and in the case of the lad who came 1st, vomit) all over the carpet tiles.....
Venue was in a hall in Battersea Park. Although the competitors are using "Concept 2" rowing machines, the display on the big screen shows little boats rowing down a lake, so you can see how they are doing!
The Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race crews put in an appearance, to "issue the challenge" for the University Boat Race, and to announce the crew members who will take part.
ITV may show some footage of the Indoor Rowing as part of the Boat Race coverage on the day.
