Thank you! I was more interested about the Hammamet/Yasmine area, it's closer to the main, Tunis Airport - where I could get year-round connections.

We helped a friendboat do a trip there in February this year. Clearing in/out depends on your luck with whoever is on shift that time, but between the three officals you must visit (coastguard, police and national guard), you'll typically end up having to pay bakshish to at least one of them. It does tend to smoothen things.

Marina was friendly, helpful and everything in good order. Plenty of space. The area around had seen better days, many abandoned shops/restaurants, but several still open. If you look like a tourist, you get harassed a lot by falconers and people who claim to be the cook from the hotel/marina that want to drag you into the rip-off shops in the fake medina near the Carthago-land park. To find local shops, take a taxi ride (~2 EUR) into Barraksael(sp?) where you'll find a good bakery, Anwar supermarket, butchers, spice shop, etc.

On the way out we got stung by the national guard for filling fuel into jerrycans (a national guard officer was watching and smiling while we filled them), so don't do that. Good to know, the huge difference in fuel price between Tunisia and Italy is tempting to bunk some reserves.
