Trying to buy New Claymore 30 - Nightmare

No website
No dealers
Nothing
I'm not in the Carribbean at the moment but will be visiting Oban in a few days.

My heart cries out in sympathy with your dilemma. I am left with a question though. Why would you want to buy a tub like that when there are so many AWBs available - some with stern cabins more luxuriously appointed than your present fornicatorium?

Supply and demand you see. Too much demand not enough supply. I hear there is such a waiting list that people are actually just putting there name down for one and selling their place. Dealers can pick and choose their clients perhaps you are not the right sort of Chentleman to be owning one.

Dear Sir,

We regret to inform you that the Claymore 30 is no longer manufactured for two reasons. Firstly, no one will buy them, and secondly we are no longer able to source reverse-action Eberspacher heaters.

However, you will no doubt be delighted to hear that in the near future we will be launching the Claymore 64. We are now at the stage of finalising the Computer Aided Design, which is taking a while because we keep needing to change tapes on the ZX80. Shortly, fully rendered drawings will be available on the superfast digital highway thingy, just as soon as we can get the box of crayons off of wee Jimi.

If you'd like the opportunity to visit the factory to inspect this noble craft during its neccessarily complicated and slow build process, we'd be happy to welcome you on any early-closing day at our Invermucky boatshed.

Yours sincerely

I've got an unwrapped C90 cassette tape in perfect condition, if the Claymore 64 needs more storage!

will there be a cabin (somewhere just above bilge level) for the faithful retainer ? We need to know.

Merchant Shipping Act 1995, Part 111, $27 applies.

Does that one come with the grey spinnaker as standard or is that a factory fit option?

It's the language barriers that can be so much of a problem. How many dealers speak Clay?

In an exciting new development Claymore Yachts announces:

Following the wave of apathy that greeted news of the launch of the radical new Claymore 64, Claymore Yachts, a subsidiary of McDuffer Industries (Invermucky) Inc, announces that it has been approached by two well known names from the global yachting industry. Inspired by the 'Grey Ghost' spinnaker of the original Claymore 30, the joint partnership, Farr North, will work closely with Claymore Yachts to develop a Harris Tweed sailcloth. This tightly woven cloth, woven by tight weavers, will be used to build tri-radial mains, genoas, spinnakers, gennakers, floaters, drifters, gollywobblers and that funny one that you hoist from the mizzen and tack to the windward rail amidships. To protect the cloth from rain, spray, moths and midges, it will be sandwiched between layers of uni-direction, carbon reinforced, hi-modulus hydro-carbon based, clear plastic. As an optional extra, UV protection will also be offered, although this is not expected to be a popular choice with Scottish owners.

In a further development Farr North expects, after the successful prototyping of the Tweed range, to be able to offer a range of Tartan sailcloths, allowing owners to display their clan allegiances.
