Trowse Bridge Norwich

Starting to plan next years boating having finally got the business back on track. We would very much like to visit Norwich & explore the broads, but as far as I can gather network rail really don't want this bridge to work. Any inside info ? Surely it would be working by now, it been years.

There's no notice to mariners saying its closed - except from 5-9th nov for NR survey.

There is one giving the opening times this year too...

I've never tried it so have no knowledge but suggest you contact the Broads Authority (address on the website) and ask?

Jeez, how bloody difficult can it possibly be to open and close a freakin' bridge?

One suspects an overengineered solution to a really quite simple problem is the root cause of the issue

Like most large companies these days, employees cannot comment directly on public media. Sounds a bit of a cop out I know, but I value my job!!

It is a lot more complicated than a road bridge though! You may also wish to check with Norwich city council regarding their swinging footbridge upstream from Carrow Bridge which has had problems opening recently.
