trips

hi all

are there any more thoughts about the thames for easter ?
we have a 4mtr air draft and wondered how far up the thames we would get as it might be nice to spend a few days above teddigton.
maybe st kats on the way up and limehouse on the return ?
we are free friday 22nd to monday 2nd and open to ideas.

Just been chatting about this Steve. Easter weekend we could do four days. Go down to St Kats on the Friday and over night. Take a trip as far up river as possible on the Saturday and back to St Kats or Limehouse for Sat night. Sunday..... not sure. Come home sometime Monday.

Or Up to Tedd Saturday and overnight there. Return to St Kat/Limehouse Sun and make our way home Monday.

Looked at the lock times for St Kats and it's possible for Easter.

Last year was our first full season for this part of East Coast and we're feeling that we'd like to meet a few fellow boaters from the area, we've been pretty much going it alone so far, with a couple of exceptions.

Hi Paul and all

thanks for digging that out, i have spoken to Richmond lock and all is very possible. there is about £ 38.00 licence that needs to be got when we go through the lock.
this is interesting as well http://www.waterscape.com/media/documents/35

hi Paul, hope you had a good weekend.

any more thoughts about the thames trip, swmbo has booked the holiday from work and looking forward to the thames or bruges, we are favouring the thames though.
maybe its a bit early for people to be planning easter trip...maybe we are just a bit eager.
more the merrier, we can then try and get a club rate in st kats..

Hi Steve. A quiet but otherwise OK weekend, thanks.

We've just had a another chat and we've decided that we're going to do the Thames, weather permitting.

I've been doing some checks and the lock windows look perfect, as do the tides. I'll put a list of tide times an lock windows together and should be able to do some tidal flow charts too, might aid planning.

General plan for us is to arrive at Shotley late Thursday, set off about 9AM Friday, overnight St Kats

Saturday, trip up river. Either coming back to St Kats for another overnight, or stay at Teddington and return to St Kats/Limehouse Sunday.

Monday, return to Shotley at some point, to overnight and head for home Tues.

We will be happy to adjust the weekends events to try and fit in with fellow forumites.
