We’re self isolating anyway and plan to continue to do so so, so quarantine is no hardship. Just nice to sail somewhere!

Not sure if this includes yachts or whether you have to travel via an approved carrier (ferry, plane, Eurotunnel, ... ).

Without my getting the charts out, can I please be lazy and ask how long Titchmarsh to Blankenberge normally takes you?

In average conditions, which may include motoring, we normally do Blankenberg to Titchmarsh in about thirteen hours. That is in a 34ft boat motoring at 6.5 knots and motoring if the speed drops below six. This sounds lazy, but it is usually just the last passage from a longer cruise. We have done it a bit quicker and a little longer, but thirteen is usual.

We take a smiliar approach on a North Sea crossing - there's plenty of time for purist sailing, but when making the trip aross or back we try to cross in daylight, and so if our speed drops it's iron topsail on.

I took exactly the same approach when bringing Capricious round from the Firth of Clyde to Titchmarsh. We did sail when the wind was favourable and strong enough to keep the speed up, but mainly we motored; we were plagued with headwinds! And that's where the arguments about electric motors break down - I can carry diesel for more than 24 hours motoring; I could only carry batteries for 3 or 4 hours at most, with less power. As we were battling the North Sea chop most of the way, the excess power of the diesel was very handy!
