I am hoping to go to Guernsey (weather permitting) this Thursday, returning Monday. Is there anything I should be aware of going to Beaucette, any places of interest on Guernsey?, nice places to eat? and ideas?

This as you can see is a last minute planed trip, as I wanted to get a cross channel in before the end of the season.

Lets hope the weather holds. Give me a call I will be about. Dont bother with Beaucette its too far out of the way especially at this time of year, better in Victoria. I know Col was lookking at making a last trip also.

I agree with Dom, Beaucette is not the best choice this time of the year. Victoria is nice and quiet now and town gives more choices for food etc. Maybe see you at the W/E ?

Yes Victoria is much easier to get into than beaucette. If you aint done Bct b4 then the approach in a 34 footer can be quite scary. I know it saves you £14 a day but you will easily spend that in taxi rides or car hire getting around as all there is at Bct is a restaurant.

You will enjoy SPP much much more and so will the wife and kid. Also going to Herm and Sark is much easier from SPP. Plus you will gete Seve D and myself bothering you for a beer or two. Bct is really out in the sticks. If you need a hire car I can get this for you at £18 per day all in inc petrol.

Give me a call when you know what you are doing.

Depends what you like to eat and what your budget is. The food is fantastic at the Georgian House, but be prepared to pay well for it, Likewise at the First and Last, which to my mind is a bit cramped but good seafood. Bumps was good last time I ate there (quite a while ago). Less expensively, you could eat at the Mai Thai, very nice Thai food. Nellie Grays Indian does as good Indian food as you will find anywhere. Pub grub, I would highly recommend the Campania (It's right next door to our house) Tina, the landlady does not know the meaning of "a small portion, please". Unfortunately they don't cook on Sunday evening. Others giving good value are the Marais Hall, the Albert, and the Belle Vue, which also has a "proper" restaurant as well as bar food.

That do for starters?

Bill.

You tight git! (note: this is a compl;iment from Yorkshire peeps)

seriosuly beaucette is a friggin tax-dodging ex-quarry aurrounded by field, much more life in stPP.

Careful Beaucete re onshore winds.
