I wonder if there is anyone who could help me with a problem I have on a boat I have recently bought (my first one) it has a Trimble NavTrac XL connected (I think) to an SA-920 (R/S-422) with bare wires. There is no fix on the GPS although the unit does give coordinates which are correct. It is connected to the NMEA I have checked the NMEA output for data and sentences. The wiring is an absolute nightmare on the boat and I have tried to work through it but do not fully understand how it is connected. One thought I had was rip the lot out and start again but would rather get it working for now and long term change it out. I have included some photos of the problem and would be grateful for a steer in the right direction.
Just to add there are 4 wires connecting the GPS unit from the SA-920, red black, brown and green (I have reconnected them where I believe they go the other wire were not connected. The other plug has a green and yellow wire connected to the block show which then connected to the NMEA 0183 via the blue and brown (house wires))
I am also new to ybw so if I should look or post this elsewhere please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any help.
