I’ve cleaned it off and now want to paint with heat proof paint should I apply some sort of rust inhibitor/treatment first?
I degreased mine with "gunk", wire brushed with a cordless drill, cleaned again, painted with Hammerite No 1 Rust Beater https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hammerite-...90562&hvtargid=pla-2281435176618&gad_source=1 then 2 coats of Hammerite Smooth paint applied by brush. So far it has lasted 20 years..... Edit, just checked, 24 years!I’ve cleaned it off and now want to paint with heat proof paint should I apply some sort of rust inhibitor/treatment first?
Have a look at a paint called Brantho Kurox 3 in 1. It is used to paint road gritters and navigational buoys. Single pack, no primer and a range of colours. Bullet proof.I’ve cleaned it off and now want to paint with heat proof paint should I apply some sort of rust inhibitor/treatment first?
