Travel Insurance - cross channel

Just an update. I tried Admiral as they cover "Yachting".
Essentially, they do not cover anything to do with the boating activity, inside or outside territorial waters if the vessel has sails or an engine. The policy does cover all others terms within territorial area, not associated with the boating activity, and the cover is "reactivated" as it were, when you re-enter territorial waters ( Uk to France ,for example).
My undertanding then, is that you get normal travel insurance even if you travel by your own boat, but you have no cover for any part of the policy while using the boat. Check yourself, of course!
I might imagine this is fairly standard wording/terms, though I had to discuss wth them to get to the bottom of what the wording meant!
Premium guide , annual, 60 day max, was about £150 for a couple.
That's helpful thanks and to a certain extent sums up how I thought we were covered i.e. medical, personal property loss/theft etc whilst in Holland although my understanding was that any medical expenses incurred due to an incident whilst sailing in territorial waters would be covered as long as sailing was an accepted activity in the policy. I didn't / wouldn't expect any delays or cancelation costs to be covered and would just see that as a cost of cruising - as motor boaters it isnt at all uncommon for our plan A, plan B or even plan C to be scuppered on a fortnight's holiday! :)

Potential thread drift, but as we are sharing experiences of illness abroad vs cost / insurance...

Money pit No 2 decided to get ill while on flotilla in Greece, taxi to the local "GP" office (a local health centre, with crumbling plaster, no air con, a waiting room full of old and young ... very reminiscent of the 1980's NHS experience where you turn up and wait in an ice box or sweltering GP clinic!, with added angry locals annoyed at apparent queue jumpers  ). Anyway, treatment was great, Dr spoke enough English with some added Google translate that she was seen and dispensed in 20 mins once it was our turn. No need for EHIC/GHIC, no charges. Not sure if that was luck or just the Greek version of a Gallic shrug? YMMV

Best bit - The Pharmacy is open to sensible times of the night.

We used to use Insure and Go backpackers long stay cover, could be taken out in monthly increments. Make sure to have EHIC or GHIC to get treatment in state hospitals.
I used Insure and Go while I was still in the UK, as I did "dangerous sports" ie motorcycling, off road driving and archery - not at the same time I hasten to add - I had to take out their black policy with them.

Never had travel insurance before & we're hoping to cross the channel more than once this year - hopefully a few long weekends plus probably a few weeks in the summer. Can you get a sort of blanket policy for the season, rather than needing to arrange each time (and possibly at short notice)?
Thanks
Just a factoid, but BMC(British Mountaineering Council) travel insurance, obviously covers climbing, but also includes sailing up to 12 miles off shore. £350pa ish for a couple. Europe only, but has high benefits.
