Anybody know where to get those "hingy things" for swinging an inflatable up on to the stern of the boat.

You know the sort of thing - hinges with with a "prong" that go through a stuck on patch on the tube of the inflatable so the rubber goes across the stern of the boat.

Do the stuck on patches and the hinges come as a kit ?

Sorry about the strange description - hope it's clear.

Weaver snap davits is what you want. Google will give you manufacturers site and UK dealers. Expensive bits of kit.

Use with great respect. There was a chap in the Solent a couple of years ago who was sitting on his bathing platform.
He decided to go for a swim and partially removed some of his essential tackle on one of these. He was airlifted to hospital with massive blood loss.

Be careful!!

Ahhh - snap davits - I'd never have guessed.

What an excruciating tale Jabs tells - maybe a rename "snapnads" davits ?

I'll have a measure up - for the SD's that is - now I know where to get them.

Thanks chaps.

I've met the guy-his club raised a great deal of money for the Hamble Inshore Rescue organisation-they got to him quickly which was important for his situation.

The event was called-IIRC- the "Purple Plum Ball"..................
