What should I use to lubricate the O Rings of new transducers (Airmar and Echopilot) ?

Thank you, all. I will go with the silicon grease option.
And, pvb, KY is good for filling the space between in-hull echo sounders and the hull /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not having read every word I'm not sure what 'some installations'refers to. But for the O-ring on the transducer an insoluble lubricant is required, for which they clearly state silicone grease.I know it's an old thread, but just came across this
https://www.airmar.com/uploads/InstallGuide/17-217-01.pdf
"Water-based lubricant (such as K-Y® jelly)"
Vaseline works well.I always use vaseline on o rings. Doesn't seem to do any harm. Am I wrong?
