I'm the crew coordinator for a crew of young (15-25) sailing enthousiast. We're a part of the International Challenge (www.internationalchallenge.org), a contest in young seamanship. Our boat is a replica of a Bantry Bay Yawl, a 36 ft wooden longboat. The goal is to give these young kids the chance to meet as many cultures as possible.

There is an international contest in Genova, 9-16 April 2003. Thanks to Ryanair, the flight to Genova for the crew will be affordable (the crew has to get the funding themselves, through donations or jobs, it's part of the challenge).

But we're looking for transport of the boat. It's on a double axle trailer, 12m long, weighs 1500 kgs. It's got it's own insurance and licence plate. It's normaly trailed by a Pajero, but the owner (father of one of the crew) isn't available to drive to Italy.

Our budget is 300-400€. How do we get our boat to Genova ? And preferably back as well :)

Commercial haulage

Does anybody know how much this would would cost if were to let it be done commercially? The whole boat and trailer can fit snuggly in a freight container. Or on a flat loader ?
