Just refitted the first of my Centaur Windows using the seal and inter screws supplied by Trafalgar. £48 for the whole job, so blinking expensive screw, but easy and clear. When I've done this kind of thing in the past with silicon it's been an 'orrible job, so quite pleased with myself (and Trafalgar).

So two reasons for the post - 1) thanks Trafalgar - good stuff and
2) I have a new Houdini foredeck hatch to fit (without instructions) and was going to Sikaflex it - thinking now, maybe I might use some of this Trafalgar expanded neoprene type stuff instead. Any thoughts?

Oh, just to boost my views, am I wasting my time and should I just burn the boat, it being a Centaur in the first place?

;)

I seated a new forehatch onto neoprene tape about 5 or 6 years ago. Very clean and easy. Still completely watertight.

As to the Centaur, just put it onto a mud mooring and it will sink quietly without you needing to do anything.

Don't burn it before Dylan has seen it!

Seriously, I have done similar jobs on my Renown. I did not have interscrews but it was the small windows I was doing. I assume it was the big windows you did. The neoprene seal stuff sounds good and should do for the forrehatch, but I would probably run a bead of Sikaflex round the outside as well. When I did my last lot of windows, a lot of the time was spent applying a yellow plastic tape to the GRP and edges of the frame. That made the removal of excess Sikaflex easier and made a neater job than the first pair I did.

I think that the bead of Sika will be the way to go on the Houdini - I'm so impressed that the compressed neoprene sits nearly flush with the window frame (it looks like a bought one) that I'm going to try and not Sika it. I will be replacing the headlining in the main cabin next year anyway, it would be nice if the windows lifted right off. I'm also not putting a squeeze of silicon down the bolt holes...madness I know.
