Towing with a hire car/van

I have to get my trailer from Bristol to Cardiff this week. I'm having problems finding a car hire company who has a car or van with a towbar. Does anyone know of one in or around Bristol?

That seems to be Thrifty/Alamo and I rang them earlier. They said they had no towbars. I have sent an email, just in case.

Just a suggestion - so don't bite my head off for offering others services!

If no hire firm can provide car with tow bar, surely one of the forumites could do the job - would need to reimburse expenses, etc. obviously.

Have no tow bar myself but can't anyone else help over such a short distance?

He towed our last boat "Misty Spirit" with his own trailer but I'm sure he would be happy to offer to tow yours.

You could get a towbar fitted, they are only about £100 and always handy to have.
