After a break of 4 weeks, me, Mrs Magnum and 2 guests will be braving the chilled English Channel this Thursday for 4 days of English boating fun. Have to go to the Princess factory Friday morning so if the weather is OK we'll go by sea otherwise we'll drive.

I feel like we are on our own here, sadly. Went to Salcombe a month ago and it was completely deserted. No freindly harbour master to take our lines. All the restaurants had tables. But mainly, just felt very quiet.

Anyway, if any other forum members intend to be in Torquay, Salcombe or Plymouth this weekend I'd be interested to know.

If you thought Salcombe was quiet a month ago, you ought to see it now. Some shops and restaurants are closed for the Winter whilst their owners jet off to the sun /forums/images/icons/smile.gif. Don't think that even the Chippie is open. Lovely and peaceful though.
Would like to have seen round your "liner" but have to return to the East Midlands today for family duties. Can't complain though, I've been down here for 8 of the last 12 weeks.
Hope you have a nice weekend.
John.
