if true it would please me greatlyRumour , in the boatfolk boardroom yesterday is that Premier are buying the above marinas , anyone herd any news.
Why ,if true it would please me greatly
Premier are investing like mad here. Super fast wifi with access points in every light post for example. New facilities on the way even though the old ones were good. And every time you look something has been upgraded. Fire extinguishers, emergency ladders, lifebuoys. The exact opposite of investing the minimum they can get away with.I am berthed in Brixham and previously was in Torquay. Brixham in particular has suffered from a distinct lack of investment in recent years, with only the most basic of repairs being carried out. MDL have also sold off the Dartside boatyard this year so our lift out benefits will be ending next spring. ..
I'm wondering what your criteria are ?visited Torquay marina this year and it is desperate for some investment. The flex walking on the pontoon deck was unnerving and the shower facilities very basic compared with other marinas .
My experience of Torquay and Brixham marinas when I've visited is that they are indeed clean and warm, but it's a bit 'public conveniences' with plenty of melamine, rows of toilets separated by a bit of board each, and small showers. A far cry from Premier Marina's typical offering of beautifully finished spacious seperate bathrooms. Premier feels like a five star setup, MDL just doesn't.I'm wondering what your criteria are ?
I was there last week, I was very impressed with the facilities, clean modern and well looked after. Individual showers with completely seperate dry changing area, all nice and warm.
Toilets were spotless and met the swmbo standards which as any man knows, women are fussy over toilets.
I only ever see raggies using marina facilities . I may be wrong , usually I am.
Events pontoon could do with a weekly scrub. Still be interesting to see what Boatfolk do with it.I use Brixham quite a lot and think it is very good
Behave, we are just getting our monies worth even if we don't need a second shower a year.I only ever see raggies using marina facilities . I may be wrong , usually I am.
You're right, I miss read the first post. I'll get my coat and wander back to PBO, full of old blokes in overalls walking around boat yards with a tin of varnish in their handsBoatfokk? I thought it was premier I mis read. Even so the boatfolk marinas I’ve been to are always really well kept.
And that's just the employees. You're right, I miss read the first post. I'll get my coat and wander back to PBO, full of old blokes in overalls walking around boat yards with a tin of varnish in their hands![]()
Criteria doesn’t really come into it. I just stated the facilities were basic compared to other places we have visited.I'm wondering what your criteria are ?
