Received my renewal from Curtis today, up by approx 40% with the underwriter used for the past 2 years. They have suggested an alternative, at just a 10% increase, but I'm yet to read the policy document.

That is probably a good plan anyway. Mine with Topsail only went up by a few quid.

My renewal was in March. I have stayed with HKJ All weather policy via Topsail.
10% increase in premium over the previous year.
They offered the best policy (for me) at not a lot different price to anyone else. I did seek alternative prices some of which were way too high.
Some others were slightly lower premium but higher excess so I stuck with Topsail which was cheaper than going direct with HKJ.

Our renewal from them last year offered a better premium with a company I didn’t know - sorry can’t recall the name - did my homework and couldn’t find much of a record in marine insurance but lots of negative comments about them in other markets, primarily health care in the US. Decided to give them a miss and paid the higher premium to stay with Nav & Gen.
