afternoon, just finished fitting a new raw water pump on the generator (sorry sir they don´t do rebuild kits for that model any more.....thieving gits)
anyway, wanted too finish off properly and clean off a load of rubber belt dust, but its quite hard to shift. Tried a vacuum cleaner, rag etc but its proving reluctant. Any top tip or patented cleaners to recommend.

Any industrial strength degreaser, usually quite reasonably priced at your local auto parts eg Halfords.

Be very careful with brake cleaner, its amazing stuff and I use it all the time at work BUT it burns very quickly and fast, also dont smoke as the brake cleaner fumes drawn though the cigarette create phosgene gas ie mustard gas.
