This pic, from Defense Media, shows an Astute Class submarine taking a tow from a passing helicopter, while preparing to anchor. I note the 40mm Anchorbraid rode and wonder A: what type of anchor is the current favourite, and B: what scope of Anchorbraid is preferred and whether there's a short length of 10mm chain on the far end?
I'm sure there are some long-retired submariners 'on the beach' hereabouts, remnants of last century's Oberon fleet, who may have the answers
