Hi Guys, what do you think...too windy out on the South coast (Poole) today for a 22 foot motor boat? Thanks for your advice.

Goodness me. Lakes is a bit becalmed.

This afternoon on Coniston

Just to make it a Mobo post

Tee-hee! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't think some of these mobo jockies do waves, except the kind that they kick up themselves.....

In the top pic., the classic timber launch with the red and white sun awning, do you find it impairs forward vision?

Would it not be better mounted horizontally? Maybe keep the sun off the helmsman more efficientally.

This is only a suggestion mind you, but you never know, you could start a whole new trend! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

A little offensive, don't you think?

Ah, hmmmmmmm, let me see now...................

After much careful, and considered cogitation, I have to conclude that no, it was not. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

lumpy day on sat - we made our way back from Cowes to Lymington Sat mid day, so perfectly do-able, but not comfortable or fun due to the sharp deep troughs of chop (in a small-ish boat) if you didn't go out, you didn't miss much!

Chrusty.......... I heard with the motor-boat lifestyle, because its more than just a pastime, its like riding the crest of success. Up at full noise, wind in your face, it just doesn't get any better. Really the only way to fly! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh I quite agree with you! Though most of them don't seem to like riding the crests when they are bit higher than six inches! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Who can blame them though??? I wouldn't much fancy it myself in some of the white goods displayed within the pages of this forum.........more like washing machines than boats. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ballistics

Don't give them any ammunition, they don't need much encouragement /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

True....Very true, but it's all in fun, no malice intended, after all it wouldn't do for us all to like the same things would it? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Lakesailor......... We have a wooden boat rally in our marina each summer, and I have got to know the steam guys. They are pretty keen on their preferred mode of propulsion.
Your lake looks like a great place to go boating!
Cheers
