Tried to get to our boat this morning. After filling the dinghy with 6 inches of water we turned round and came home. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
lumpy day on sat - we made our way back from Cowes to Lymington Sat mid day, so perfectly do-able, but not comfortable or fun due to the sharp deep troughs of chop (in a small-ish boat) if you didn't go out, you didn't miss much!
Chrusty.......... I heard with the motor-boat lifestyle, because its more than just a pastime, its like riding the crest of success. Up at full noise, wind in your face, it just doesn't get any better. Really the only way to fly! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh I quite agree with you! Though most of them don't seem to like riding the crests when they are bit higher than six inches! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Who can blame them though??? I wouldn't much fancy it myself in some of the white goods displayed within the pages of this forum.........more like washing machines than boats. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Don't give them any ammunition, they don't need much encouragement /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

True....Very true, but it's all in fun, no malice intended, after all it wouldn't do for us all to like the same things would it? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It's the Steam Yacht Gondola, owned by the National Trust and operating a round the lake ferry service. It's beautifully restored and a pleasure to sail on. It's totally silent.
Have a look http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-gondola
Thanks Lakesailor......... We have a wooden boat rally in our marina each summer, and I have got to know the steam guys. They are pretty keen on their preferred mode of propulsion.
Your lake looks like a great place to go boating!
Cheers
