I am looking for a three quarte inch bronze strainer and skinfitting for my engine intake.

The only ones I can find are described as Tonval.

One supplier calls them Tonval bronze.

A chandler on the other hand said Tonval was not bronze but a kind of brass.

Can anyone throw any light on the nature of this Tonval material. Is it bronze and if not where can bronze skin fittings be found?

Then of course I find that the 3/4 pipe tails are for 19mm hose wheras my engine is 22mm. I could go up to one inch skinfitting but then the hose tails are 25mm. But that, I guess is just to add to the fun.

Yr profile doesnt say where u are, but if you are on the South Coast there is a guy at Alladins Cave at Burseldon who was suprisingly well informed on the subject when I had to build up my raw water intake last year. Worth giving him a try, I dont know his name but I was pointed directly to him for advice so just ask.

Tonval is a slightly better kind of brass.Try A.S.A.P , they have gunmetal skin fittings in all sizes.
