Toast

Just got a new boat and already thinking of ways to burn it to the waterline
I THINK I've tried blowtorch toast, though admittedly NOT with one of those wee creme brulle torchettes (which I think might be too concentrated) but with a bigger paint stripping type gas torch.

IIRC it made the bread taste faintly of the gasworks near my grandparents place in York, so OK for an Eee, Its reet grim oop norf nostalgia themed breakfast, but not so good for a Larrouse Gastronomique entry.

Also watch heat and slate. I have a vague feeling that steam flashing off between the bedding planes can lead to exfoliating shrapnel. Eye protection at least for all concerned.

I bought ours from Black & Edgington, now Blacks, but I've had a look on their website and the Pyramid is no longer savailable.

I reckon your best bet is to do a saved search on eBay UK. There's a few on eBay USA but the carriage charges are very high.
Thought Blacks was no more, but maybe they just closed in Edinburgh.

Blacks is now owned by Go Outdoors or whatever group they are (Edit - JD Sports). Blacks are slowly being rebranded to GoOutdoors Express as they're the smaller outlets. Millets are going the same way and no longer feature on the group website.
Blacks used to have a different and more premium range but sadly no more. Cotswold Outdoor has suffered the same fate and now I'm not aware of a shop that stocks actual outdoor stuff, it's all "Berkhaus exclusive for GoOutdoors" and similar which is always a cut down crappy version with poor fabric for cheap.
Amazon seems best placed to supply items now, after research on the manufacturer website.

Pity. They used to do some OK tents. I THINK I might still have a very old example of one of their sleeping bags somewhere.

I have two of their sleeping bags, both with holes in after many years of abuse. I tried to replace them but I'd have been better off with a binbag and some scrunched up newspaper than what was on offer. I can sort of see the problem though, between extreme inflation and wages effectively dropping, fewer people can afford decent kit these days. It would have been nice if there was still one high end supplier though!
