Time to dust off the Yellow

I do recall one of the Stella races to Ostend from Burnham. As we were racing out the Crouch the customs officer chased after us & stopped one of the boats who was well placed at the time. Apparently he had not filled in the form notifying his departure so the chap held him up for half an hour whilst he made him fill in the form & lectured him. Needless to say he was well p..sed off at coming last into Ostend.
Did not make that mistake again

One Burnham Week racing our Stella, the customs man in the little launch picked us from the hundreds of boats heading for the start line.
"where have you come from"?
Priors
Destination?
Pile House, round the cans, don't know exactly yet, finally Priors.
ETA?
Hopefully before the bar closes.
This seemed to fulfill his quota of form filling.
To be fair, it would be much more likely to succeed in smuggling, to mix in with a large fleet of racers, rather than try to creep into a remote creek in the small hours,

This is the sort of thing that block chain could be useful for, if you are not afraid of being monitored. Chipped boats, passports, harbours, monitoring remotely, easily building a data set of who, what, where and when following you around without any human intervention. If the crew buy massive amounts of booze it could easily follow the crew who paid for it, left the shop with it, passed through the post and loaded it onto the boat. On arrival, a tax deduction is made from the purchasers accounts and the record stored on the block chain; a sort of modern carbon paper, coin operated phones and blue passports, without the monkey work.

Don't give them any ideas. Things will be hard enough when we leave, without HMG getting involved.

+1

There'll be a special secure government version which will take 10 times the computing power of a bitcoin mine, cost 100 times as much, will get it wrong and the only reason a 9 year old couldn't hack it is because any damage caused would only be an improvement
