Withernsea Lighthouse from the street. I used to do the odd shift at Withernsea Ambulance Station just along the road from the lighthouse.
Unusual to see one in a residential street. Hope it didnt have a foghorn

OK - I give up. Well done. They are indeed Hoy Sound High and Hoy Sound Low. The one in the foreground in my pic being High, on the island of Graemsay, and the other on Hoy itself.

Here's one for you.....
It was blowing over 50kts at the time, so taken from inside the car. Not so far away it was gusting over 70kts.

HRH The Princess Royal would know! She has an interest in lighthouses, and I think "bags" them as a hobby; a bit like Munro Bagging, only different. She has been to most of the Scottish ones.

I love Ardnamurchan, and when I was a wee boy, some forty odd years ago, went up to the light. My younger brother needed a 'we we' and did one of the balcony! Many giggles were had.
