Tidemill Yacht Harbour

I used to berth at the Tidemill and went to the party when the new block was opened. They still haven't solved the design problem of the shower spray entering the dressing area and wetting the floor and maybe wetting ones clothes. The best place is Chatham Marina where they have a proper shower cubicle with a door within the shower compartment.

you guys have no idea of fun.

You should try the facilities at Bridgemarsh. For £1 you get a huge shower cubicle (plenty of room for 2) inside a room WITH a door and a stool and somewhere to hang your clothes and somewhere nearby to hang your towel.

The fun part comes when you take longer than 2 minutes to complete the task in hand and the lights go out so you have to dash about in a blinded, nude lathery condition to jump and up down in front of the movement sensor. Luckily it's so freezing in there that you are glad of the excuse to run about a bit.

:D

BTW - the £1 bit never works, it seems jammed on free!

muck like Urk then

So....all in all, Tidemill gets a thumbs up then :)

I'll report back on what sort of shower "action" I get.....actually, maybe not!!

Think I would need a bit more than 2 minutes though :D

enjoyed a recent stay at the Tide Mill but it's expensive - £26 a night for m y boat when i expect around £17-18. or maybe things have gone up everywhere this season. showers worked fine - no problem with spray.

The Tidemill has always been one of the more expensive places to stop on the East Coast, even when the toilet/shower block was the old portacabin near the North arm of the marina.

By contrast Brightlingsea was £11 which also compared very favourably with £20 a night on the North Fambridge Yacht Station pontoon.

Relative Cost of Over Night Stay In East coast Marinas?

As a summer sailor, who lives on a buoy & rarely uses marinas, the above got me thinking, "What is going rate for an overnight stay in our local marinas, for, say, a 33ft sloop on a finger pontoon with electricity?"

Would it be useful to start a new thread to gather this data or has this already been done? If so where can I find it?

I suspect the going rate would be £20 to £25, some places will be a bit cheaper such as Bradwell or Titchmarsh while others like Burnham Yacht Harbour or the Tidemill will be a bit more.

The two MDL marinas are probably the most expensive on the East Coat being, IIRC, more than £30 a night.
