I understand Burnham YH will be refurbishing the ablutions, somehow they always seem older than they really were. Hopefully that will include a more generous helping of hot water

that is good to know , Byh has been off our visiting list since 2013 when first mate decided the ablutions were below par ..

Are the facilities at the HM office at Southwold now open?

The charges for using the stagings were about the same as most East Coast marinas so it seemed a bit cheeky to then ask people to pay extra to use the not at all brilliant showers at the sailing club.

Excellent showers in HM office building were open last year. As of course was the adjacent pontoon.

A few years ago I was in the new block after dark, sitting peacefully in a cubicle when all the lights went out. The PIRs don't pick you up. I had to open the door and wave my hand to make the lights come on again. Fortunately nobody walked in at that precise moment!

I had the same in Urk ( semi sub terrainian block )a few yrs ago, all soaped-up in the shower too.

The other trap for the unwary is that the shower is proximity triggered, if unaware you can get soaked when not expecting it, also be careful when drying as a careless flick of the towel may trigger the shower and get you, and the towel, all wet.
