Last time I popped in there (October) they said they were repairing damaged pontoons and bank erosion caused by the 2013 Tidal Surge. I'm assuming it's all tied in with that, plus a little dredging, making a few alterations whilst they are at it etc....

I believe they are installing a marina boat-lift thingy with presumably an associated dock inlet.

Whatever they may be doing by way of repairs, I understand they're also moving earth to create some quite long berths straight ahead inside the entrance. Work started a while back, and the fuel pontoon had certainly gone by the time we went in (to top up the tanks before lift-out at Larkmans) in October.

As I mentioned earlier, I think that's a dock for a new boat-lift. I say 'I think', actually one of the management told me back in the summer...

It's good to see a marina investing for the future. Our marina used a crane until it died of old age some 4 years ago - no replacement in sight yet! Increasing numbers of empty berths too - I wonder why?

Funnily enough, I was chatting with the boss at Fambridge about this very thing. There's always something going on, something being upgraded, improved or replaced, at Fambridge. In contrast most of the marinas on the East Coast over the last six years have changed very little, if at all in some cases!

Since I started berthing at Shotley in 2002, the investment in the site structure has been considerable, well over £1m. Pity the Shower rooflights remain, eh Roger?

I understand Burnham YH will be refurbishing the ablutions, somehow they always seem older than they really were. Hopefully that will include a more generous helping of hot water
