Thought I was going to have to have a word with a Naval Captain!!! ?

We used to sail in all weather when I was in the mob. Even on minesweepers. I can't recall sailing getting delayed because of bad weather,if we did, maybe I have erased it from my memory, or I was tankers
They are punching into a good gale now in the western approaches. It's getting in and out of harbour that's the snag. Plus original plan was to victual at anchor off Gilkicker somewhere, that would have been dodgy in the last gale.

I was always told that the Russians would come on a Wednesday afternoon, as that's when all the NATO/Western European troops were on 'sports afternoon' and busy playing football and the like.
I really can't see them coming at all. Waiting on the Chinese though

I can't remember delaying for weather either. That said when I did 4 months on fish I think we might have taken a sheltered anchorage to avoid a gale.

Well we were on the Portsmouth to Wootton Creek ferry on Friday when it should have come out - lovely weather for a ferry although not every passenger thought so. Staying this week in a house I used to live in east of Ryde so great view of the lights and blanking of Portsmouth then a fort as she came out after we had a good pub dinner.
