Crowded yes but I found a great spot to drop the Rocna

I think I know that anchorage. Is it behind the sticky out bit near Hyeres?

Its in the rade of Hyeres but closer to the eastern end, next to Estagnol, and in front of your favourite man’s chateau
Ah so you were being wined and dined by Lord JCB again? Btw I see the Special One wants Troy Deeney as Spurs’ ‘saviour’ to replace Harry. Looks like he’s reverting to route 1 football. That should go down well with the White Hart Lane faithfuls :ROFLMAO:

Wasn’t he Watford’s captain ? Doesn’t he belong in the old second division?
And by the way, JCB’s superyacht isn’t here and I don’t see any security, so his lordship is probably not here

After a long morning, we decided to return home after lunch so we would remain energized to clean the boat.

We will struggle to make the 4am deadline so we're going to cut short our holiday so the kids don't miss too much school after the 14 day quarantine. The rise in infections here in France is also pursuading us to modify what we're doing.. more time at anchor, less time in towns

Book quick! We are leaving Mallorca on the 19th for the same reason. Here is now very quiet.

We are planned to head down 21 Aug, but being based in Germany right now we don't have the risk of the boarder closing so we are planning on going. Yes we are going to modify our plans and probably won't be going to St Tropez. The Lerins and time at anchor will be the plan for now. The other option is to head to Italy instead. A real pity, but not much we can do about it.

We have Eurotunnel flexible tickets so we'll be fine getting back, just not sure of an overnight stop on the way back
Looks like I just got back home just in time, still hoping to get back late September. I drove back in one go on Sunday 12hrs to Calais no problem, didn't fancy a hotel stop. I always use the Flex tickets, well worth it for the convenience.

I'm not surprised at what's happening. In La Napoule the close mingling, hugging & kissing was back to normal levels. Masks, not so much ?

Stay safe all of you still south.

Arrived in Yorkshire midnight after a 14 hr drive from CH ,
Chunnel was busy at 7/8 pm last night ,
Been away for 2 months and have a some business to take care of so quarantine would have been a PITA .

Return in just over 2 weeks for another 2 month stint taking us to November .

Hopefully with the return of kids to school, and peeps for krist sake go back to work the mass people movement side would have reduced .
Less people roaming about aimlessly less spread .

We we’re planing a big ( ish ) trip on the boat ...Portofino , Portovenere , Pisa Elba , Tuscan Islands, Corsica etc ....but it’s been busy boaty wise ....and that begs the Q “ why go seeking out crowds “ in terms of you don’t exactly know where other folks have recently been or been behaving ?
Even hum drum , passing lines , phaffing with electrical boxes , holding the door at marina offices , never mind milling with crowds in streets etc are inho a few extra risks avoidable .So we have.
Pisa - Elba are not going away any time soon :)

As said you can make boating from a social distancing POV pretty safe .

Credit to UK Gov they have been dropping heavy hints and from other quarantines I could see a pattern so we rearranged our booking last week brought it Fwds a few days to slip inside .
We buy in bulk 10 at once works out about £500 and you can move them FOC on line with your “ my euro tunnel account “
Remember we have a Mutt .
Normally we stay over somewhere , break the journey up etc ......but again an unnecessary extra risk .

Would normally take a Ferrari back , but I don’t want 14 hrs of 4000 rpm ,and if we get stuck ( anything can happen EU lockdown wise ?) i think I will regret it ...carrying skis etc theres no roof rack and winter tyres ( locally ) might be problematic ? Mrs is not a fan of driving them either ..it’s a blokes thing if iam being honest . We all have to make personal sacrifices I guess ?
She does well coping with the Itama , so I do not want to “push it “ so to speak
Sold her that one on the smooth ride , slam less hull , deep V 23 degrees seakeeping “science “etc ....it worked so I know I am a very lucky boy .

Anyhow back on the boat in about 3 weeks .

Ps .
See the news today ...mad scramble back from France ........sorry but totally predictable if you followed the rates / 100K and the increases of new cases reported .
Always said this ( it’s a long thread ) waaaaay back if the Ro numbers are comparable then it’s ok to mix populations .
Once they start to deviate then the higher ones a problem = quarantine , or just stop folks stupidly going , which I guess putting a country on the Q list indirectly does sufficiently to achieve the same effect .

Strongly recommend Italy. No foreigners here at all. Currently in Syracuse. People out and about, good atmosphere. No festivals but all restaurants open. Anchorages no issue, only Italians around. Absolute bliss. Only concern is wondering whether there will be much to return to in UK at least economically wise.
