Irish couple beside us have told us to keep turning right when we leave St Tropez as they claim it’s stunning. A pity we need to head in the other direction.

There are some nice bays, although none really safe in all wind directions, and then of course you get to the Porquerolle islands which are definitely worth a visit and beyond that you get to the Calanques. All worth a trip to see but just be aware that the further west you go, the more likely you are to experience a mistral wind. Beyond Marseilles, it gets all flat and boring and full of mosquitoes the size of small birds

IMHO its not worth it unless you like overpriced mediocre restaurants and being propositioned by wizened old hookers in bars. FWIW we've got in on a couple of occasions turning up very late. And been ripped off royally by the marina office for a shorepower adaptor. Or you can anchor just outside the harbour entrance or round the corner in Canebiers and tender in

So, too far west and the mosquitoes are the size of small birds, too far east and the whores are old and wizened?
Where do you recommend Mike? Blackpool?
?

A chap collapsed in the restaurant we were having lunch today. I think he had heard about the berthing costs and the price for a shore power adapter.
Or it could have been the price of the Rosé!

He bounced back and left under own power.

Is Rose the name of a wizened hooker?

We are on our boat it’s 32 degrees , I have only being paying €120 pcm for a 2 weekly clean since April .
last on mid Jan .Happy to report thus far it all works .
Tomorrow will go out and inspect the underwater areas , hope that Micron 350 really does supposedly reckon to last 2 seasons .
I will scrub up the stern gear as well .
Busy here , refreshing adherence to face masks .
Matteo came buy , the guardian met him for the first time ....he even pumped up the tender and cleaned it .
Still wondering if I well find any problems with Italy .
Fuel at the road / cars is circa €1.34 ......I,ll find out if that s the same @ marinas .....was last year ....auto and boat = same .

Anyone got any tips or suggestions on Sicily. Plan to spend 5 weeks there and in the Aeolian Islands. Particularly interested if anyone knows good anchorages West and South on the Island. Lots of marinas but not much in the books I have on anchorages except in the Aeolians. Bit far from you SoF lot but I suspect less British down there.

My boat is about to go back in. The marina has done a great job. Have to say I have been enormously impressed with the quality and price of work in Italy. The people are also Uber friendly and during the lockdown the person who takes care of my boat made sure it was checked and cleaned regularly despite everything. Super impressed all around.

The Great Saint Bernard Pass?
Absolutely.
With the hospice building and the Swiss side in the background.

Well that looks very familiar! We went over the Col du Grand Saint Bernard last Sept on our bike tour
