As the season draws to a close, I would like to say the the weather on the East Coast IMO has been really good, I have only been aboard when it has rained on 2 occasions, we have had extended periods of good weather, on looking at the weather forecasts pretty much through the summer, there appears to have been a diagonal line from sort of bristol up to newcastle, north of which it has been raining almost constantly, whilst we on the East Coast seem to have avoided rain and bad weather for much of the summer (it will now hack down as I want to sail to Ostend this weekend) this just goes to show what a great place it is to own a boat unlike the west coast of scotland where owning a submarine would have been marginally dryer. It has been windy country wide again but not as bad as last year. And my tomatoes have been great this year too!

You're right - despite all the usual British grumbling about the weather, having lived on board for nearly 5 months I can't recall more than 10 days of significant rain. PLenty of breeze though, which can be irritating after about 3 days continuous.

Agreed. Other people have been complaining about this summer, but it seemed pretty good to me. We spent much of August in the Netherlands, and it was super there too. Perhaps it is a SE v NW division.

Northwest Scotland had excellent weather in the earlier part of the summer. Weeks and weeks of NE'lies with wall to wall sun, but August and September so far------------oh dear!

We got out in June, but sadly missed July because we were otherwise engaged in mid-Wales - very wet but not much use for sailing. Agree Aug/Sept have been a disappointment, although last week was good.

High pressure might make it back for the coming weekend.

I've not complained. Missed all the lovely June weather (was in Angola) but the 5 weeks in July & August we reasonable - 50/50 ish mix. If I wanted guarantted sunshie day after day I'd live n Greece or summat. I likes it greeeen, so you have to have a little wet to keep it that way.

What you need is FLEXIBILITY - looks good lets go, looks miz. let's do something else.
